Finding contacts in the music industry is a very difficult thing to do if you are looking to make a name for yourself for your music. Most people who will be able to help you will not be keen to speak to you in the first place and it will normally be best to simply play anywhere you can in a bid to get spotted by somebody who has some power.
Another good way of making waves is to network hard and network often to build your list of contacts. In the music industry you never know who will know somebody who can help you. Work with other bands and promoters to help with getting your music heard and take every opportunity you are ever offered as you never know where you might be spotted.
The Turtle Island Quartet comprises two of the original founding members David Balakrishnan who graduated from UCLA before mastering in music composition at Antioch University West and Mark Summer who graduated from the Cleveland Institute of Music. Recent additions to complete the quartet are the young Dane Mads Tolling who has won awards throughout Europe for his abilities with a violin and Jeremy Kittel playing the viola who has played at the Ryder Cup Opening Ceremony amongst other recognitions.
These artists now work together to produce stunning music and the latest two to join the band were able to join through their networking and by fostering relationships with those in the music industry. To find your way in music is difficult but not impossible and the Turtle Island Quartet show that success can be achievable for anybody.
